Otherwise, the Umineko manga is worth reading by itself even after completing the sound novel so you can save the 3 chapters listed for an entire separate Umineko reading. Reading farther after chapter 9 of the manga will only 'spoil' parts of umineko that you haven't gotten to yet in the sound novel. I actually want to link you that part of the manga, but only click these links by the time you have actually completed the riddles portion of Episode 8. It's simply replaced with something else (which I also preferred heavily, since I think it fleshes out a little more on the relationship between some of the characters). For further emphasis on how unimportant they are to the story, that part is completely removed from the manga since the reader can't actually interact with manga parts that are already printed out after all. They're really there just for the reader to have fun. This way you can truly try to figure out and answer those riddles to the best of your wit without feeling like you're missing out or losing out on anything whatsoever. It just has a different picture, but even then the picture won't feel important at all mainly a little for fun thing.
There are riddles and one other decision thing to choose from at all, but that has no significance on the story whatsoever. I actually don't know if picking the wrong answer unlocks the Tea Party, but even if it does, the contents 'tea party' and the '?' parts won't change. So you can save at the options point, choose the wrong option, quickly get the ending from there, then go back and choose the correct option. It's also at the very end, so if you pick the wrong option, it only goes on for about 15 minutes from there. There's a '2 choice' part where one option should be rather obvious as the correct option to pick. I'd encourage reading them both, for perspective, anyway, I do not think it harms the experience at all.ĪFTER reading the VN ending, I'd recommend letting the dust settle on your thoughts and give the EP 8 manga a go, or at least the chapters that equate to the Riddle game, as they expound on some characters even further, and are handled a bit more elegantly, in my personal opinion. The choice you're encouraged to choose is much more substantiated, and unlocks the Tea Parties, as well, so make of that what you will. The other option is short, and reads like a Bad End. There is one final choice, one of which the story CLEARLY prefers you choose, it's not subtle. Answering them right / wrong doesn't change anything that comes afterwards. Attempting to provide a shorter answer, hereĮach riddle you answer correctly will show a brief scene (from the riddle givers, if I'm not mistaken) that either expounds a bit on their character / background plot information, or expresses in further detail the feelings / thoughts that they wish to pass on.
